A-VAMS
|
Which programme your child requires will depend on the findings of their Learning Profiles at the Learning Skills Evaluation. Each programme helps develop different skills and will benefit different children. Some children may require a combination of programmes to help them perform to their maximum ability.

Once the foundational learning skills are well-established, programmes such as A-VAMS™ may be recommended to help the student strengthen and apply the skills in a small group setting. It is important to ensure that the skills achieved are maintained and improved upon by using and applying them. This is similar to a child who has just learnt to ride a bicycle. While he may have learnt a new skill, he may not be able to ride smoothly and with refined control. If his newly attained skills are to become smooth, automatic and fast, he will need to continue practising for awhile more. Each one-hour A-VAMS™ class will include age-appropriate movement activities as well as table-top exercises and worksheets. Working with a small group of no more than 6 appropriately-matched children, we aim to integrate and challenge different parts of the learning systems. A-VAMS helps children, ages 4-16 years old, with the following:
-
Attention and alertness sensory systems - essential for overall learning
-
Motor planning - essential for posture, handwriting and PE class
-
Visualisation and memory - essential for subjects like Mathematics
-
Attentive listening - essential for comprehension and good listening skills
-
Verbalisation of ideas - essential for language development
-
Speed of processing - essential for information processing
-
Thinking and problem solving - essential for finding solutions to questions
-
Social skills - essential for forming friendships
-
Self-esteem - essential for motivation and positive thinking
If your child has attended the Learning Skills Evaluation or completed the individualised programmes of REVAMP®, Fast ForWord® and/or Play Attention®, he/she may be recommended by your Programme Consultant for the A-VAMS™ Class. Do bear in mind that while A-VAMS™ is excellent in strengthening the brains existing networks, more intensive and individualised programmes may be first recommended to establish new brain connections and vital foundational skills before strengthening can take place effectively.
Results:Improved classroom learning abilities and performance
Duration:
1 session a week, 60 minutes per session, for 16 weeks
REVAMP™ stands for RESTORING ESTEEM VISUAL AUDITORY MOTOR PROCESSES
REVAMP™ is KidzGrow’s in-house programme and It is a programme that targets foundation learning systems in the body, through gym-based and desk-top activities to rapidly improve a child’s ability to learn.
The activities in REVAMP™ have been designed to reinforce visual and auditory skills that are essential to effective learning. Such skills include smooth eye movement, accurate processing and interpretation of visual/auditory information, attentive listening, memory, attention and concentration.
REVAMP™ does not teach content e.g. teach Maths or Science but works in the foundational abilities of a child to learn better. Parents are expected to see a visible improvement in their child’s learning abilities within 6 weeks.
Results:
Within 6-12 weeks, visible improvements are usually noted in handwriting, motor coordination, visual skills, behaviours, speech/language and confidence.
Duration:
2 sessions a week, 60 minutes per session, for 6-12 weeks.
The Play Attention® Learning System measures brain waves and presents feedback in a video-game format. This is a patented advance of technology that NASA astronauts and U.S. Air Force pilots use to stay attentive in the cockpit. Now this same technology is used to overcome attention, concentration and focus issues. This programme retrains the brain to think more clearly, more attentively and with more focus.
The system begins with a sensor-lined helmet that resembles one used for bicycling. The sensors monitor the user's attentive state and thinking process, which is fed into a small interface system that attaches to the computer. Users complete a series of video game-like exercises that are controlled by the mind alone.
They can see and hear real-time feedback of how they're progressing in focusing, finishing tasks, increasing memory, and filtering out distractions. This is called Edufeedback which is continuous and immediate. Research shows this type of feedback significantly increases attention and response control.
Often, within a short time, behaviour can be modified to reduce or eliminate calling out, fidgeting, impulsivity and so on, while improving time-on-task, focus, comprehension and more.
Results:
By the 20th session, there is observable improvement in a child's ability to pay attention and control his behaviours.
Duration:
Minimum 2 sessions per week, 60 minutes per session, total 40 sessions
Do you ever feel your learning journey can be enhanced if you can have sharper listening, faster absorption speed, greater ease with comprehension and more confidence in speaking up? We have the solution just for you – FastForWord® - the Neuroscience Approach to Reading Intervention
The aims of Fast ForWord® are to improve:
-
Auditory processing
-
Ability to receive instructions
-
Reading, spelling and comprehension
-
Attention and memory
-
Receptive and expressive language skills
-
Learning speed
-
Academic grades
How it works?
By applying neuroscience principles, Fast ForWord® software is unique in its ability to support learning and intellectual ability including:
-
Memory
-
Attention
-
Processing rate
-
Sequencing
While listening to “specially processed” sounds, words and sentences, this computer game-based programme helps to activate the brain area which is associated with phonological processing. Through superb reproduction of sounds, acoustic differences are stretched and emphasized so that the brain can grasp the subtle differences of sounds like “b” and “d”.As you progresses, the sounds advance closer to natural speech, thus make you perceive verbal communication easier. When the auditory neural pathways become more active and efficient as a result of using Fast ForWord®, dramatic and enduring gains are made in speech and language abilities after just 6-8 weeks!
Using our prescribed protocol, students can achieve a 1 to 2 year gain in reading skills in 6 to 8 weeks
