Speaker’s Profile

Ms Teo Lee Fun is an experienced Occupational Therapist trained in New Zealand with at least 30 years of experience in handling therapy for children in the hospital setting and private set-up. She was previously attached to Melaka General Hospital and Kuala Lumpur General Hospital before venturing into her own private practise in 1985. Currently, she is also an adviser to several non-government EIP centre.

Ms. Teo has a special interest in working with children with learning difficulties and sensory integrative dysfunction. She has extensive experience in conducting paediatric relevance talks and workshop including Handwriting and Sensory Processing Dysfunction for therapists, special education teachers and parents.

Workshop Objective:

1. Understand how the sensory, motor and perceptual foundation influence handwriting performance.
2. Learn the developmental stages of writing readiness and the importance of developing hand functions for fine motor skills.
3. Learn to incorporate ideas using multi sensory strategies to develop handwriting skills to suit each individual’s needs.
4. Learn to recognise, identify and rectify your child weakness.
5. Learn to be creative and innovative, fun and stimulating to implement a handwriting home program for your child.
6. Participate in hands-on lab sessions.
Note: Participants are required to wear practical clothing as you will need to move about.

Good handwriting not only helps the brain develop but it improves grades and confidence. This workshop will provide sound theory with practical and hands-on strategies to assist children in their handwriting skills .

SUBSTITUTION OR CANCELLATION
Substitution of participant(s) is allowed provided Kidzgrow is notified of the name of the new participant(s) at least 48 hours prior to commencement of the seminar. Kidzgrow reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or postpone the seminar due to unforeseen circumstances. Every effort will be made to inform the registered participants.
