Tips to Help Memory
Written by Play Attention
- After giving verbal instructions, have your child repeat the instructions to you.
- Post a routine checklist that your child can mark off as steps are completed (For a great interactive chore chart, we recommend Nanny's Circle)
- When shopping, ask your child to remember 2 items on the shopping list. It is his job to remember those items and make certain they are in the cart! Gradually increase the number of items on his list.
- Tell a story about something that happened to you today. Follow up by asking questions about the story. Start with simple facts and progressively ask harder questions.
- Give your child a picture to study for one minute. Once the minute is over, ask specific questions about what was shown in the picture.
- Start your Play Attention program. Play Attention has games that focus on Short term memory and Spatial memory. Soon to be released: An exciting new Working memoryactivity that can be downloaded to your current Play Attention program!
